SSC has activated the demo link for stenography test for the post of SSC Stenographer Grade C & D. To attempt the mock stenography test, candidates need to login with user ID and password.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has activated the demo link for stenography test for the post of SSC Stenographer Grade C & D. The skill test of SSC Stenographer 2019 is scheduled to be conducted on October 21 and 22. To attempt the mock stenography test, candidates need to login with user ID and password.

SSC Stenographer 2019 admit card for skill test has been released. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter the registration ID/roll number/candidate's name and password.

Instructions Related to Stenography Test

The instructions related to the mock stenography test for SSC Stenographer are given below:

  • The clock is set at the server. The countdown timer in the top right corner of screen displays the remaining time available for candidates to complete the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination ends by itself. Candidates are not required to end or submit their examination
  • The question palette is displayed on the right side of screen and shows the status of each question using different symbols
  • To answer verification section question, candidates need to enter the response using keyboard and click on ‘Save’ button to save the answer for the current question
  • SSC will provide the computer and shorthand notebook for the test
  • No candidates will be allowed to bring their own keyboard
  • Candidates are advised to use both the sides of the shorthand notepad while taking dictation
  • Candidates will have to write their roll numbers, name, exam date in figures and words on the cover page of the notepad
  • Candidates should bring their own pen/pencil/eraser for the test
  • The shorthand test will be online and candidates need to type at the speed of 80 words per minute for Stenographer Grade D and 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade C
  • The duration of the test for Stenographer Grade C (in English) post is 128 minutes while it is 138 minutes for Stenographer Grade D (in English)
    The duration of the test for Stenographer Grade C (in Hindi) post is 143 minutes while it is 153 minutes for Stenographer Grade D (in English)
  • Candidates will be given two trial passages which need not to be transcribed. Candidates are advised to put a cross mark on the trial passage so that during the actual typing, they do not get confused between the trial passage and actual passage
  • After this, the actual passage will be dictated. Candidates should read their shorthand notes for ten minutes. The time for the commencement of the transcription will be announced by the invigilator after the reading time is over
  • Candidates should not tear any page from the notepad. They need to handover the notepad to the invigilator. SSC will also scruntised the shorthand notebook before finalisation of the result of the skill test
  • Candidates need to write a self-declaration question at the end of the exam
