The 5th International Conference on Sustainability Education (ICSE) concluded on September 20, 2023, at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, India which was organised in partnership with UNESCO, the United Nations Environment Programme, Centre for Environment Education TERI, and others three dozen National & International organizations.

The event which started on September 19, themed "Educating for Climate Action and Sustainability," witnessed a convergence of over 600 global thought leaders, educators, policymakers, and environmentalists, from across 15+ countries, rallying for concerted efforts against climate change.

ICSE, organized by the Mobius Foundation, has evolved into a preeminent global platform for sustainability education. Since its inception in 2019, the conference has spurred meaningful dialogues and collaborative initiatives to address pressing sustainability challenges.

The conference program unfolded through hybrid sessions, blending physical participation with a global virtual presence. More than 600 attendees participated in 18 plenary sessions, workshops, panel discussions, and presentations, creating an immersive experience aimed at inspiring transformative action.

2nd Special Plenary session was about VIRAM- Agenda Sustainability, a one-year-long social cause initiative which talks about understanding the causes and effects of overpopulation, its impact on human resources, and possible long and short remedial measures. Mr. Pradip Burman, Chairman of Mobius Foundation, said, Biodiversity loss, climate change, pollution, deforestation, water and food shortage—these are all exacerbated by our huge and ever-increasing numbers.

The theme "Educating for Climate Action and Sustainability" resonated strongly with the recent G-20 summit in India.
