Meanwhile, Telangana High Court has put a stay on the reopening of residential schools, social as well as tribal welfare schools with hostel facilities. The HC has said that conducting physical classes are not mandatory. The court has also asked the state government to file a detailed report on measures taken to reopen schools across the state within a week. Media sources suggest, the HC also stated that no school can force any student to attend offline classes. Also, no school can take action against students who do not attend live classes.

Earlier, considering the reopening of the schools, the state government issued various guidelines including the continuation of mid-day meals and provision of free textbooks to the students of government schools. Just like other states, Telangana schools have also been shut since mid-March and classes were being conducted online.
