With the introduction of the new Kendriya Vidyalaya in Madurai, the total number of KVs has increased to 1,241.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has launched a new Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Madurai Tamil Nadu. The Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank launched the new KV virtually. During the launch, he congratulated the parents and students and said, “Delighted to share that Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is opening a new School today, named 'Kendriya Vidyalaya ITBP Idayapatti' in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu. I extend my heartiest congratulations to all the students and parents who will benefit from this school.”
“It is the 1,241st school of the ever-growing chain of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country,” Mr Pokhriyal tweeted.
The new KV has been set up as Kendriya Vidyalaya ITBP Idayapatti, Madurai. The Kendriya Vidyalaya will start the academic year 2020-21 for Classes 1 to 5 immediately. The admission process to the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, will be as per the schedule prescribed for this academic session by the Sangathan. With the introduction of these new Kendriya Vidyalaya in Madurai, the total number of KVs has increased to 1,241.
The KV in an official notification stated that: "Kendriya Vidyalaya ITBP Idayapatti, Distt. Madurai (Tamil Nadu) in Parliamentary Constituency Madurai is one of the 50 new Kendriya Vidyalayas sanctioned. The Vidyalaya will start functioning from class 1 to 5 (single section in each class) during the academic year 2020-21 and thereafter will grow consequently based on feasibility. The admission process may be completed within 30 days from the date of issue of this order."
Earlier, the Sangathan had announced that the last date for admissions to all classes including Class 11th is September 15, 2020, as per the calendar available on the website kvsangathan.nic.in.
