TN NEET 2021 Counselling: Four students top merit list with 710 marks

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma. Subramanian has released its state merit list for MBBS/BDS admission, four students have topped the list with 710 marks each.

Tamil Nadu state merit list was released on Monday by Health Minister Ma. Subramanian and four students have topped the list with 710 marks each.

These four toppers are - Arvind R from Thanjavur, SK Prasenjithan from Tiruvallur, Pravin M and Geethanjali SA from Namakkal. The merit list was released on the basis of the score obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021.

For management quota seats - the topper is RR Kavinesh of Tiruppur, also with 710 marks followed by Hamda Rahman of Kerala with 701 marks. All the applicants for management/NRI quota seats are from the CBSE schools. A total of 15,259 candidates applied for the category, out of which 14,913 are eligible for counselling.

I Siva of Pudukottai with a score of 514 marks has topped the seats reserved for government school students, followed by Prakash Raj S. of Tiruvannamalai with a score of 512 marks. Out of 10 toppers, four are girls.

DME (Directorate of Medical Education) has received 25,593 applications, out of which 24,949 are eligible for NEET 2021 counselling.

Tamil Nadu has a total of 7,825 MBBS seats in government colleges, out of which 6,999 seats are available for the state quota. Under NEET 2021 Counselling, there are also 1930 dental seats available.

DME has also released a video to teach students about the online counselling process for general category applicants slated to begin on January 30. For the special category, the counselling will begin on January 27 at Government Omandurar Medical College premises. The special category includes ex-servicemen, wards of ex-servicemen sports quota applicants, and differently-abled persons.
