The self-financing medical colleges in the state have hiked the one-year fee for government reserved seats for MBBS and BDS courses from INR 4.3 lakh to INR 4.5 lakh.

As per News 18 report, the one-year fee for administrative quota seats has increased from INR 12.5 lakhs to INR 13.5 lakhs. Moreover, the reservation fees for NRIs have increased. Last year, it was INR 23.5 lakhs while in the present year, it is INR 24.5 lakhs.

Other than the increase in fees, these private medical colleges are also allowed to collect INR 40,000 per student for the development fund. Also, the accommodation charges, transportation charges, and food charges are not included in the current rates and these charges need to be paid separately. As a result, the students have to pay up to one lakh annually in addition to the current fee.
