The students should be filled with self-confidence and believe in positive thinking. They should not believe in negative thinking and work honestly, Uttar Pradesh Governor said.
Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has urged students to think positively and work towards self-confidence. During the 86th convocation of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, the Governor also stressed on setting up “happiness centres” at universities and colleges and also asked teachers to discuss the problems faced by students for a better future.
While addressing the teachers, students and other attendants at the convocation for the 2019-20 academic session, she said, “The students should be filled with self-confidence and believe in positive thinking. They should not believe in negative thinking and work honestly.”
She also expressed her displeasure over the current quality of education, fake degrees, and pending of degrees for the past 3-4 years. She also criticized those teachers who have been working in the university for more than 30 years and have not shown any interest in uplifting the university and its students.
While highlighting that students these days are better at embracing technology than the teachers, the Governor said, “Why don’t teachers take help from such students in technology and include them in committees?”
She also stressed that there should be a “happiness centre” in universities and colleges of the state, where students can spend some time and share their positive or negative views with other students. Even teachers should also visit these centre and discuss with the students.
She further stressed that the University administration should work towards cleaning the Yamuna river and visiting the ghats once a month to clean the area and plant saplings so that a good massage can be given to the tourists visiting the city.
