Uttarakhand schools, anganwadi centres closed until Jan 22; Online classes to continue

Previously, Uttarakhand Schools were closed on January 7, 2022. The restrictions were imposed along with a ban on election rallies or protests until January 16, 2022. The idea behind this was to curb the spread of any more infections.

The government of Uttarakhand has announced its decision to shut all schools, Anganwadi Centres for another week. According to the official circular released by the government, educational institutions in the state would remain closed until January 22, 2022, for all students up to Class 12. Putting an end to all speculations, the state government has released an official notification announcing the closure.

Meanwhile, online classes would continue for all schools and anganwadi centres in Uttarakhand. Schools have also received directions to continue with online classes and chalk out plans accordingly for everyone's benefit.

Amid the increasing cases of the novel coronavirus, many were awaiting the announcement regarding the closure of Uttarakhand schools. According to the order released initially, Schools and Anganwadi Centres were directed to remain closed until January 16, 2022. Hence, an announcement regarding extension of closure was made later after analyzing that the state has not witnessed any significant improvement in the COVID situation.

States across the country are extending the closure of schools and colleges are the country is witnessing a dreadful spike in the number of COVID-19 cases. States such as Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana have already announced their decision to extend the closure.
