Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has spoken to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to enquire about Indian students stuck in war-hit Ukraine and suggested proactive measures must be taken to evacuate them.
The Indian government is trying for the safe evacuation of Indians from Ukraine ever since the war started between Russia and Ukraine. Now, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has spoken to the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to enquire about Indian students stuck in Ukraine and suggested proactive measures should be taken to bring back the Indian students.
Vice President secretary has tweeted, "The Vice President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu today spoke with the External Affairs Minister Shri S. Jaishankar and enquired about the safety and well-being of Indian students stranded in Ukraine. He suggested taking proactive measures to bring all of them safely back to India."
First batch of Indian students leave Ukraine: Report
As per the reports emerging, the first batch of the Indian students in Ukraine has left Chernivtsi for the Ukraine-Romania border from where they will be sent back home, as reported by Hindustan Times.
These students will be reportedly taken to the Romanian capital Bucharest from where two Air India flights will take them back to India.
The government has advised Indians to carry their passports, cash, essential items and vaccination certificate once they leave the Ukrainian border. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has set up a 24x7 control room to closely monitor the evacuation process.
