Vision India@2047: GOI reconstitutes advisory committee; IIM Ahmedabad, Indore Directors among members

The Government of India is formulating a document, "Vision India @2047 to identify short-term and long-term goals for this decade.

Vision India @2047: In order to identify short-term and long-term goals for this decade, the Government of India is formulating a document, "Vision India @2047". To formulating the roadmap for the 'Governance' sector for 'Vision India@2047' document, the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances has taken a lead.

An official document released by the government reads, “The Government of India is formulating a document for "Vision India @2047" to identify long term goal and corresponding short term defined outcomes for this decade with timelines and milestones.”

“Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances is taking lead to formulate a roadmap for the 'Governance' sector for 'Vision India@2047' document. An Advisory Committee vide O.M. of even no. dated 03.02.2022 was constituted in this regard. Now, the Advisory Committee has been reconstituted,” the notice further stated.

The committee reconstituted by the government include eminent personalities and education experts from the industry. While the committee will be headed by Dr Jitendra Singh, MOS (PP) as the chairman, V Srinivas- Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Member Public Grievances will serve as the member secretary.

The list of members includes names such as Professor Abhay Karandikar, Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur; Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore; Professor Errol D'Souza, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad; Professor M Chandrasekhar, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam; Dr K Radhakrishnan, Former Chairman, Indian Space Research Member Organization; Professor Nirmalaya Bagchi, Director General, Administrative Staff College of India; Professor Mahadeo Prasad Jaiswal, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur; Dr C Chandramouli, Former Secretary to the Government of India.

Talking about the formation of the committee and being a member of it, IIM Indore Director Professor Himanshu Rai said, "Visualising 2047, when the country will be celebrating 100 years of independence, today, we all need to focus on transforming India into a developed nation. The Government of India is formulating a document for "Vision India @2047" to identify a long-term goal and corresponding short-term defined outcomes for this decade with timelines and milestones. With this objective, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances has constituted an advisory committee that will contribute to formulating the policies and strategies and offering recommendations to achieve this goal."

I believe it’s vital to connect the nation's citizens, academia, administration, and government for fruitful outcomes.
