The official XAT mock test has been released today by XLIR Jamshedpur. The mock test indicates several changes in the XAT exam pattern. One of the major changes in the exam pattern is the reintroduction of Essay writing. According to the XAT mock test available on the official website, the test is for 3.10 hours and there is an essay writing question clubbed with GK in Part 2 of the test. However, the essay (of 250 words) will be evaluated only if and after the candidate will be shortlisted for the personal interview round.
Candidates preparing for XAT 2022 exam on January 2, 2022 must take the official mock test to know the revised XAT exam pattern and work upon their essay writing in the remaining days.
Official XAT Mock Test 2022: How to Practice
The official XAT mock test link is live now and candidates can take the test as per their convenience. Check the steps below to practice official XAT mock test
- Go to XAT 2022 website
- Click on ‘mock test’ tab: https://g21.digialm.com//OnlineAssessment/index.html?2076@@M6
- Click on ‘login’ and start the test
The XAT 2022 exam will be exactly the same as this mock test, the only difference will be that candidates may have to use their login credentials to start the test.
XAT 2022 Marking Scheme
There is no change in the XAT marking scheme. Check the key points below:
- Total marks is 100
- For every correct option, one mark is awarded
- Negative marking for every incorrect answer is -0.25 mark
- Negative marking everyunattempted question after eight unattempted questions is -0.10 mark
- Negative marking does not apply to General Knowledge questions.
XAT Exam Pattern 2022: Key Highlights
The revised exam pattern may cause a sort of panic among the candidates due to reintroduction of Essay Writing after three years. However, they should not worry about it much and focus on the overall paper. Check below some key highlights of the XAT exam pattern based on the official mock test released today.
- Essay shall be evaluated after the candidate will be shortlisted for the interview.
- The total time duration will be 3.10 hours on 190 minutes. The time will be divided into: Part 1- 165 minutes, Part 2 – 25 minutes.
- The countdown timer on the computer screen will display the time remaining to complete the paper.
- On completion of 165 minutes, Part 1 will be locked and the screen will move to Part 2 of the paper.
- Candidates cannot leave the examination hall before the completion of 190 minutes.
- PwD candidates will get extra time of 20 minutes per hour. They will get 55 minutes extra for Part 1 and 5 minutes extra for Part 2.
- PwD candidates can submit their answers at any point of time between 165 minutes and 220 minutes for Part 1 and between 25 to 30 minutes for Part 2.
