According to XAT 2022 students’ reactions, the question paper seems to be of moderate to high difficulty level. The students shared that Decision Making section was easy and so was Verbal Ability section. Quantitative Aptitude was lengthy and more DI oriented. GK was the toughest section, they said.
Some of the students faced difficulty in writing the essay. Re-introduction of the Essay Writing section was announced pretty late and the candidates didn’t get much time to prepare for it. Most of the students Shiksha spoke to, said that XAT 2022 was easier than CAT 2021.

XAT 2022 Student Reactions and Reviews
Mansi Sharma
"The XAT exam was fine. The Quantitative Aptitude was a bit difficult as the section was lengthy. It was more Data Interpretation oriented. Verbal Ability was doable. I felt Quantitative Aptitude was most difficult for me as I am a non-engineering student. Also, only 10 minutes were given for the essay. There was chaos in the room, everyone was typing fast. One essay topic was on economics and the other was on failure and success of managers.
I though CAT 2021 was tougher for me as XAT has Decision Making part which is more scoring and it is my kind of exam."

"The exam was pretty good. I appeared for CAT, NMAT, SNAP and IIFT. CAT was difficult but XAT was pretty decent in terms of Decision Making and essay topics. I personally found Decision Making to be very fine. Quantitative Aptitude section was average in terms of difficulty level and lengthiness. Section wise, one needs to be very strategic about RC that he or she must be attempting, you have to prioritise the questions also as there is penalty for incorrect attempt. VA was very much doable if you were clear about the number of questions to focus on. Decision Making section was very much doable. QA was doable but Algebra questions were very difficult for me. The essay part was okay but GK was difficult."

"The exam was not amazingly good but pretty good. I can say that exam was pretty much balanced. In Verbal section, the RC passages were a little tough however, the grammar part was easier. In Decision Making some of the passages were difficult for me; particularly the one set in which decision making was not working out for me. The Quantitative Aptitude questions were a bit easier but the Data Interpretation questions were complicated. Not complicated but lengthy to solve. GK was pretty much out of the court. It could not be knocked off easily. There were two essay topics and we had to write on one of them. One was – whether your stellar academic record make you an average manager for B-schools to choose you and the second topic was whether democracy and capitalism go hand in hand. Considering the shortage of time, I chose the manager topic. I did 55 questions out of 100.
I think XAT 2022 was closer to CAT 2021 in terms of difficulty level. CAT was perhaps slightly difficult because of LRDI, in XAT the Verbal part was a little complex and Decision Making is something which is subjective."
Ria Nagpal
"XAT was moderate. Section wise, I found DI to be difficult. In essay section, one topic was difficult, one was easy, and we had to attempt one. I have given NMAT, IIFT and CAT. XAT was more difficult than NMAT but equal to IIFT."
Muskaan
"The exam was good. Difficulty level was moderate. English and Quant were easy. Every section was easy for me but DM questions were a bit tricky. I did the essay on management topic. Compared to other MBA entrance exams that I took, XAT was doable."
