The workers enrolled under UP School Chalo Abhiyan will knock from door to door to check if there is any child who has been deprived of going to school.

School Chalo Abhiyan: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the 'School Chalo Abhiyan' in the Shravasti district on Monday. The objective behind the launch of this initiative is to ensure 100 per cent enrolment in primary and upper primary schools in the state. The government of Uttar  Pradesh has launched School Chalo Abhiyan in UP's Shravasti district as it has the lowest literacy rate in the state followed by Bahraich, Balrampur, Badaun and Rampur.

Emphasizing the importance of education, Adityanath said, "For a country to progress, it is necessary that education is imparted, especially to the younger generation. It is our responsibility towards the country that we should educate the children and for that, students should be sent to school."

The Chief Minister also added that for the next one month, the workers enrolled under UP School Chalo Abhiyan will knock from door to door to check if there is any child who has been deprived of going to school. Children who are deprived of going to school will be taken to school and registered in the school, and uniforms, books and bags will be provided to such students.

Adityanath also gave directions to all the government schools that they must offer basic facilities such as toilets, drinking water, furniture and smart classes to students.

Departmental officials must carry out a campaign to collaborate with alumni (of government schools) and private firms for the transformation of state-run schools, he said.

After the event, UP CM Adityanath also served food to children.
