Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi has started inviting applications for BSc Post Basic Nursing 2021 entrance exam via OPENNET. The last date to apply is March 20, 2021.

IGNOU BSc Post Basic Nursing 2021 application forms are now available on the official website of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The university has started inviting applications for the January session for BSc Post basic nursing course. The last date to apply is March 20, 2021.

About IGNOU BSc Nursing (Post-Basic)

BSc Nursing (Post Basic) is a two-year duration undergraduate course in nursing offered by IGNOU. There are 620 seats to be offered by the IGNOU across all its nursing education centres in India. The admission will be granted on the basis of the entrance exam. Admission to Post Basic BSc Nursing Programme for January 2021 session will be processed region wise on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the entrance exam.

Aspirants have to comply with the eligibility criteria laid down by the conducting body, IGNOU before applying for the course. The applications are now available online on the official website of IGNOU from March 7, 2021, to March 20, 2021. The  Student Handbook and Prospectus of Post Basic BSc Nursing programme, January 2021 Admissions is also available and candidates have to pay Rs 1,000 for the handbook and the application form.

Who is Eligible for IGNOU BSc Post Basic Nursing

IGNOU has set the eligibility criteria for the admission to Post Basic BSc Nursing programme on the basis of class 10 and class 12. Below are the eligibility criteria candidates are advised to refer to before applying:

For Class 12 Passouts

In-service Nurses that are Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM) who have passed class 12 exams along with three years Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). The applicants should also have a minimum experience of two years (after registration as RNRM).

For Class 10 Passouts

In-service Nurses (RNRM) who have cleared Class 10 or its equivalent along with three years Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with experience of a minimum of five years (after registration as RNRM).

If any male candidate is applying, he should have done a certificate course of six to nine-month duration as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) if he has not completed midwifery in the GNM programme.

Age Limit: The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years as per Indian Nursing Council. The minimum age should be 17 years.

How to Apply for IGNOU BSc Post Basic Nursing 2021

  • Candidates have to visit IGNOU official website, ignou.ac.in or simply apply here
  • Click on Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Entrance Examination on the home page on the right-hand side in red text
  • Candidates have to register themselves first by clicking on new registration on the left side corner
  • They have to provide details such as user name, email id, password, mobile number correctly and enter the captcha verification key to proceed
  • Candidates are advised to remember their email id and password. Candidates will receive passwords on their registered mail id.
  • Candidates have to use the same email id and password for submitting the online application
  • Candidates are required to fill the programme study centre code (PSC code) correctly in which they wish/opt to take admission which is Post Basic BSc Nursing
  • Applicants have to select the exam centre code of their choice as per instruction in the online application
  • Submit the entrance test fee online and take a print of the payment receipt at the end for record

Notably, No TA/DA will be given for appearing in the OPENNET and later for the counselling process. All the correspondence with the candidate will be done only through e-mails and the IGNOU website i.e. www.ignou.ac.in.
