Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing 2020 application will be released by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, the department is responsible for faciliattig the whole admission process. Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing 2020 admission process is conducted to facilitate admissions into a four year BSc Nursing programme. All the colleges are affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University in adjunct with the Indian Nursing Council (INC). There are as many as 33 institutes recognized by the State and Indian Nursing council offering around 2460 seats for BSc Nursing programme across the Tamil Nadu State.

Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing 2020 Admissions will be proceeded by several events such as from filling of application forms to counselling, and the conducting body decides the calendar for all the events. Who Is Eligible for Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing
- The candidate should be an Indian National
- The candidates should have a valid domicile certificate of Tamil Nadu State and should have proof of being a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu State.
- Candidates should have passed class 12 or SSC exam or any equivalent exam from a recognized school of Tamil Nadu.
- Applicants who have completed HSC exam from a recognized board or university of Tamil Nadu is also eligible to apply prior to the completion of Diploma in Nursing course for a period of three or three and a half years in Tamil Nadu
- Maximum age limit is of 45 years at the time of admission as on December 31, 2020. Hence, candidates below 45 years are eligible to apply
- Candidates having a valid certificate in GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) course from a recognized nursing university.
- The candidate should be a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife with the Tamil Nadu State nursing registration council.

Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing 2020 Admission Process
Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing 2020 admissions will be done on the basis of merit list and the merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in the qualifying exam i.e. class 12/SSC level exam or marks scored in the GNM course. The candidates will then have to appear for the counselling process. Below are the steps to be followed for the Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing admissions:
- Fill the application form: Candidates first have to fill the Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing application forms online by visiting the official website of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. Candidates should ensure that they have submitted the application fee as no application will be accepted without the application fee payment.
- Release of the Merit List: There are as many as 33 institutes offering around 2460 seats across the Nursing colleges of the Tamil Nadu State. The conducting body will scrutinize the application forms on the basis of merit. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in the qualifying exam, i.e. class 12/SSC level exam or marks scored in the GNM course.
- Counselling Process: Post the release of the merit list the shortlisted candidates will be called for the counselling cum interview along with their documents in original and a set of photocopies for verification.
- Seat Allotment & Fee Submission: Upon the successful completion of the counselling eligible candidates will be allotted seats in their respective choice of colleges, filled during the application form filling process. Candidates have to submit the tuition fee in the allotted college along with the submission of necessary documents.
Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing 2020 Application
Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing application can be filled in online mode. The guidelines for filling up the Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing application form is as follows:
- Candidates have to visit the official website of the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai
- In order to apply for Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing, the candidate has to register him/herself to create a new account um ID
- To register themselves, candidates have to furnish details such as Name, Email ID, contact number, date of birth etc.
- After providing all the details, candidates will have to click on the ‘register’ tab to get themselves registered
- An automated mail will be sent to the candidates by the official authorities after successful registration on their registered email ID.
- The mail will contain all the details such as the login information, application number or registration number and the password
- The password can be later changed by the candidate by visiting the official website.
- Using the login details (registration number and password), candidates should log in to the university's official website and fill out the application form.
- To fill in the application form, applicants have to download the application form from the official website and have to take printout
- After that candidate have to fill up the application form by providing all their personal information and academic details
- Once the application form has been filled out, applicants must submit the filled-in application form to the university along with the necessary documents and demand draft of the application fee
Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing 2020 Application Fee
Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing 2020 Application fee is Rs 350 for all the categories. The candidate can pay the application fee by issuing a Demand Draft in favor of ‘The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai-10’ payable at Chennai. The Demand Draft is supposed to be sent along with the duly filled Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing application form and other necessary documents.
Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing Counselling Process 2020
Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing 2020 counselling process will begin right after the release of the merit list. Only the shortlisted candidates and the candidates whose name will be in the merit list will be called for the counselling. Candidates who fail to attend the Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing counselling session on the allotted date and time, their admission will be cancelled by the Selection Committee. However, the Selection Committee reserves the right to permit the candidate to attend the counselling later, if a valid reason for the same is given. Some important points related to Tamil Nadu BSc Nursing counselling process is as follows:
- Candidates will be allowed to choose the college of their choices on the basis of their merit, and the same will be allotted as per the availability of seats
- The choosing of colleges as per the candidate’s choice is the option which the candidate can exercise to get admission into their choice of institute during the counselling. The seat allotment to in the college of their choice will be subjected to availability of seats in that particular college or institute.
- The migration of the candidate from self-financing to Government College and from one college to another college (only for Government colleges) will be done on the basis of merit and will be as per the rules.
- If the candidate does not accept the seat allotted to him/her during counselling, he/she cannot claim the seat from which he/she opted out at any point of time for the current academic session.
- An individual request for transfer of college will not be entertained by the Selection Committee
