Himachal Pradesh (HP) GNM 2020: Application (Released), Dates, Eligibility Criteria
HP GNM 2020 application forms are available in the form of Proforma and candidates can download and fill the same by September 10, 2020. The application fee will be submitted online using the SBI Collect.
HP GNM 2020 also known as Himachal Pradesh (HP) General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) 2020 application forms are now available on the official website of Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Himachal Pradesh. HP GNM 2020 application kick starts the admission process in diploma level course of three years in General Nursing and Midwifery Course (GNM) across Himachal Pradesh State.
HP GNM 2020 Applications are invited from the eligible Bonafide Himachali female candidates for admissions into Three-year Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) course in the following 41 recognized GNM Training Institutions spread across Himachal Pradesh. Out of the total 41 institutions, Six institutes are from Government Sector and rest 35 are of private sector, for the academic session 2020-21. There are a total of 830 seats available in all the 41 institutes.

HP GNM 2020 Eligibility Criteria
- The candidates should have passed class 12 preferably with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) subject along with English with 40 percent in aggregate from a recognized Board of School Education or its equivalent Board.
- Candidates should have passed class 12 from Arts/commerce (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health Care Science – Vocational stream only, passing out from recognized Board such as AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board scoring 40 percent in aggregate are also eligible.
- Candidates who have passed class 12 from Arts or Science examination or Health Care Science – Vocational stream only conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40 percent in aggregate.
- SC/ST candidates are eligible for relaxation of 5 percent marks.
- The age of candidates should be between 17 to 35 years (as on 31st December of the admission year). However, a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit shall be applicable for SC/ST candidates. Note: The selection of the candidates is purely on merit basis of qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 preferably with science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and there is no provision/quota kept for in-service/direct FHW/ANM candidates for doing the GNM training course.
- The age of candidates should be between 17 to 35 years (as on 31st December of the admission year). However, a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit shall be applicable for SC/ST candidates.
Note: Candidates will be selected on merit basis based on the performance in the qualifying examination i.e. class 12 preferably with science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) subject and there is no provision/quota kept for in-service/direct FHW/ANM candidates for doing the GNM training course.
How to Apply for HP GNM 2020
HP GNM 2020 application can be filled by using the prescribed Performa to the Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Block No. 18-B, SDA Complex, Kasumpti, Shimla-9, HP, PIN- 171009. The application fee is received via SBI collect account only. The application fee for General/OBC category candidates is Rs 400 only & for SC/ST candidates is Rs 200. The application fee is non-refundable. It is mandatory to enclose the copy of fee receipt with the application form. Any application without the application fee is subjected to be rejected.

- Candidates have to google for ‘State Bank Collect’ via online mode
- Click on State Bank Collect – SBI link, https://www.onlinesbi.com/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm
- Then click on Check box to proceed to payment.
- After then Select Himachal Pradesh in State of Corporate/Institution tab and in next tab select Government Department in type of Corporate /Institution Then click on Go button.
- After click on Go button Select HPNRC in Government Department name.
- Next click on application fee in select payment category tab.
- Fill the particular detail on the Performa
HP GNM 2020 Counselling
The conducting body will announce the date for counselling through the Official website, News Papers, Radio & TV etc. The shortlisted candidates have to carry all the certificates in original before the counselling committee such as Matriculation Certificate for Date of Birth, class 12 qualifying examination certificate, SC/ST/OBC categories certificate and sub categories certificate i.e. EWS, IRDP, Ex Serviceman/Ward of Ex-Serviceman, Physically handicapped, Children/Grant Children of Freedom Fighters, Latest Character Certificate and Bonafide certificate issued by the Tehsildar) etc. issued by the competent authority.
- The conducting body will scrutinize all received applications
- After scrutinizing the applications on the basis of the stream, a merit list of the shortlisted candidates will be prepared /drawn
- Post the preparation of the merit list of the shortlisted candidates, a committee constituted by the Government for the counselling will allot the seats to the candidates as per their merit/ roster/category in the nearby Nursing School as per the address given by the candidates in their application form.
- In the said counselling, the seats in Government Schools shall be filled up in the first instance, thereafter the process for filling up seats in private Nursing Schools will be initiated.
- The Provisional allotment list in registered organizations of Government institutions will be displayed on the official website. The allotted candidate is required to send her option/willingness /unwillingness to undergo the GNM course in the allotted School within two days positively by e-mail to the Director Medical Education & Research, H.P. directorateme@yahoo.in , so that selection letter could be issued to the allotted candidate. In case candidate fails to submit her option within two days, then it will be presumed that she is not willing to join in the allotted School and seat will be allotted to the next candidates in order of merit.
- The counselling committee will upload the selection letters on the Departmental website i.e. hp.gov.in/hpdmer, after releasing the provisional allotment seats.
Hence, it is advisable that the candidates are required to provide their working mobile WhatsApp number, and active e-mail ID while filling HP GNM 2020 application form. In case of any lapse is found in this regard, the department will not be answerable /responsible. The State Government and Director Medical Education & Research, HP, Shimla reserves all rights and discretions to take decisions regarding any change in terms and conditions.
