Meghalaya GNM 2020 Application forms have been released by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Meghalaya, Shillong on its official website. Interested candidate can apply by September 8, 2020.

Meghalaya GNM 2020 Application Form has been released on the official website of the conducting body, the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Meghalaya, Shillong. The process will facilitate admissions to the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) which is a three and a half year diploma programme in nursing. Candidates can fill the application form by September 8, 2020.

About General Nursing Midwifery (GNM)

GNM focuses on the provision of care of individuals, families, and communities. As mentioned GNM trains the students in taking care of the patients at large scale and is not only specific to a community. The course is categorized under the domain of paramedics. The diploma programme is designed to train the students as nurses with skills to make them competent to work in a hospital environment and perform duties such as providing first aid, assisting in research activities, wound surgeries and functioning effectively in a team.

Meghalaya GNM 2020 Eligibility

• Unmarried male/female candidates who are indigenous inhabitants or permanent residents of the State are eligible to apply
• The minimum age of the candidate should be 17 years as on December 31, 2020. The upper age limit is 35 years and for candidates who are Registered ANM there is no age bar.
• The candidate should have passed class 12 level examination with 40 percent in aggregate from any recognized University/Board. Candidates from the State open School recognized by State government and National Institute of open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government are also eligible. However Science is preferable.
• Candidates with English having 40 percent in aggregate in Vocational Stream-Health Care Science from recognized CBSE Board/ State/ Centre can also apply
• Candidates who are Registered Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) with class 12 educational qualification are also eligible
• In case of disabled Candidates, 3 percent disability reservation is considered with a disability of locomotor to the tune of 40 percent to 50 percent of lower extremity after being thoroughly examined and certified by a Medical & Health Officer.

How to Fill Meghalaya GNM 2020 Application Form

• Candidates have to visit the official website of Directorate of Health Services (MI), Government of Meghalaya, http://www.meghealth.gov.in/
• On the homepage, at the bottom, in the ‘What’s New’ section, candidates will see notifications and have to click on ‘Apply GNM Course’ icon.
• Candidates will be redirected to the application page where they have to provide various details such as name of Candidate, Gender, Date of Birth, Age (as on December 31, 2020), Mobile Number, Category, Percent of Marks in Class 12, Stream in Class 12, Physically Disabled (Yes or No) in the first column of the application form.
• In the second column candidates have to submit their Parent's /Guardian's Name, Permanent Address and Address of communication.
• In the third and last column candidates have to upload the enclosures such as Passport size photograph, Age proof (Birth Certificate/Class 10 Admit Card, Class 12 Marksheet. Optional - ST/SC Certificate, Permanent Residential Certificate, Disability Certificate). The size of the photograph should not exceed 400Kb and for others the file size should be 500Kb all in JPEG image format.
• After enclosing all the documents, candidates have to enter the captcha key and accept the declaration by ticking on the declaration and then have to click on the submit button.

Meghalaya GNM 2020 Admission Process

• Apply for the Meghalaya GNM 2020 online by visiting the official website of Directorate of Health Services (MI), Government of Meghalaya, Application which does not fulfill the requirement as per the Indian Nursing Council (INC) are subjected to rejection. The conducting body will not accept or entertain any application after the last date of submission.
• The list of eligible candidates for Screening will be published on the official website
• The conducting body will announce the date of screening later
• Selection of candidates who are medically fit and eligible will be made purely on the basis of merit and subject to reservation policy of the State Government.
• The list of selected candidates eligible for the undergoing the course will be displayed on the notice board of Directorate Of Health Services (MI), Shillong and Office Of The District Medical & Health Officer, Tura, West Garo Hills and on Government website. No individual invitation will be sent to the selected candidates.
• Selected candidates are to report immediately to the Deputy Director Nursing, Directorate of Health Services (MI) for further instruction as the case may be.
• Selected candidates who fail to report according to the fixed date will automatically lose their right to nomination, and the next eligible candidate from the merit list will be nominated.
