WB GNM Nursing 2023

On the official website of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB), Joint Entrance Test for ANM(R) & GNM Courses, https://wbjeeb.nic.in, application forms for GNM Nursing 2023 for West Bengal State will be released in online mode. The GNM Nursing training programme in West Bengal (WB) will be a three-year diploma degree provided by several diploma nursing institutes around the state. In this article, the terms West Bengal GNM, WB GNM, and GNM West Bengal are used interchangeably.

The Government of West Bengal, Department of Health and Family Welfare along with the WBJEEB are the conducting bodies for the WB GNM nursing training course and will start accepting applications tentatively from March 2023. Candidates will be able to apply for the exam during the application window of atleast 30 days.  

Who is Eligible for West Bengal GNM 2023?

The conducting body along with the Indian Nursing Council (INC) has set the eligibility criteria for the West Bengal GNM Nursing programme. Below are the criteria:

• Candidates should have passed Class 12 from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or from any recognized Council/Board securing a minimum of 40 per cent in aggregate
• The minimum age of the candidate should be 17 years and a maximum of 27 years as of 31st December 2023
• The candidate should be an Indian national and a permanent resident of the District of West Bengal
• The candidate should be able to read, write and speak in Bengali or Nepali.
• Vocational Agriculture or Vocational Home Science Students can also apply

West Bengal GNM Nursing Selection Criteria

Candidates will be chosen for admission to the Government of West Bengal Health and Family Welfare's General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) programme based on their performance in the common entrance test. Based on the admission exam results, a merit list will be created and disseminated. The top four topics make up the merit list. One of these essential topics in English. After all the applications have been received and the examination has been conducted, the conducting body posts a merit list on its official website.

How to Apply for WB GNM Nursing 2023

In order to apply for the WB GNM Nursing 2023 exam, candidates will have to follow the steps mentioned as under: 

• The candidate has to visit the official website of the Government of West Bengal, Department of Health and Family Welfare, https://www.wbhealth.gov.in.
• The online registration window will open, asking for only registered candidates to log in
• Click on the 'New Registration' tab on the left-hand side of the screen 
• To register, candidates have to provide details such as personal details such as name, address and contact details. Candidates have to provide details about their Nationality, enter their parent's Name or Name of the Guardian. Then they will enter Present & Permanent Address by entering the following State, District, Pin, Address, Post Office and Police Station.
• After providing the above details the candidates have to create a password using a security question and answer
• At last, the applicants have to enter the security pin (case sensitive) and then click on the 'Submit' button
