Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the Indian Air Force has postponed its Scheduled Test for Airmen Recruitment (STAR) exam. Earlier, the examinations were fixed from March 19 to March 23. According to the official statement released by the Selection Board, the STAR (01/2020) exam scheduled from 19-23 Mar 2020 is postponed to the last week of April 2020, tentatively, due to the coronavirus outbreak, various government advisories, and Section 144 at many places.

There are two phases in which the Indian Air Force's STAR recruitment is conducted. During Phase-I, a computer-based online examination is conducted by CDAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing). Candidates shortlisted after Phase I as per their merit are called for the Phase II selection test. The Phase II Selection Tests are conducted at Airmen Selection Centres. The Selection Board has advised candidates to refer the official website i.e. www.airmenselection.cdac.in to get the latest updates regarding the examination.

Online applications were invited by the Indian Air Force from Unmarried male Indian Citizen (Citizens of Nepal also eligible) for the selection test to join as Airmen in Group x Trades (Except Education Instructor Trade) and Group Y {Except Auto Tech, IAF(P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades.

The Coronavirus spread has also led to the postponement of recruitment examinations by various other recruitment agencies, including Kerala PSC, ITBP, and RBI. However, the SSC CHSL examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission will be conducted as per schedule.
