After the release of the unofficial answer key, it has been found that the TNPSC Group 4 question paper 2019 contained many errors. Some of the errors found in the TNPSC question paper 2019 are mentioned below:
- One of the questions asked to candidates was, ‘When was the Right to Information Act, 2005 passed by the Parliament?’ The act was actually passed on June 15, 2005 but the answer options given to candidates were October 20, October 21, October 25 and October 12. It may be noted that October 12 was the date on which the act came into effect, not passed by the Parliament.
- In another question, candidates were asked to list the number of political parties that participated in the first general elections in 1951. The options that were provided to candidates were 54, 64, 74 and 84. In reality, 53 political parties participated in the elections.
- In another question, candidates were asked the location of the zero degree longitude and zero degree latitude. The one option mentioned in the paper was Atlantic South and West of Africa. It should actually have been Western Africa.
- In a match-the-following type question, candidates had to match some incidents with dates. The fourth option in column A of the English version of the TNPSC Group 4 question paper was ‘dissolution of the 1st Lok Sabha’ and that of the Tamil version of the paper was ‘Republic Day’. This lead to confusion among the candidates.
