The Staff Selection Commission has constituted a committee of experts, to look into the complaints received from the aspirants, who were failed in the SSC CHSL 2018 Tier-II paper, due to the new UFM rule.

After receiving several complaints from the candidates who were marked failed despite getting good marks in the SSC CHSL 2018 Tier-II paper, the commission has now decided to
constitute a committee of experts to examine the matter and give its recommendations for the consideration to the Commission.

Earlier, the department had received several complaints from the aspirants who had appeared for the SSC CHSL Tier-II text of the Combined High Secondary Level 2018. As per the complaints, many of the students have got zero marks, due to the new Unfair Means (UFM) rule.

Responding to the complaints, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Chairman Brij Raj Sharma had assured the aspirants that he will look into the matter once the lockdown is uplifted.

The Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (CHSL)-2018 (Tier-II) was conducted by the Staff Selection Commission on September 29, 2019. The examination was conducted for 45,101 candidates out of which 36,112 candidates had appeared in the examination. The SSC CHSL result was declared on February 25, 2020, wherein, 32,600 candidates were shortlisted for appearing in the Skill Test against 5,918 tentative vacancies. 4,560 candidates were rejected on the grounds of UFM.

The Commission in a statement said: "It has been observed that a majority of candidates have followed the instructions of the Commission meticulously. However, 4,560 candidates did not follow the instructions of the Commission and mentioned their identities (real or imaginary, e.g. name, address, mobile number, etc) inside the Answer Books. On the basis of the identities (real or imaginary) inside the answer book, identities of the concerned candidates can be recognized at the evaluation stage and hence all these candidates have been rejected under UFM by awarding zero marks. The action of the Commission in rejecting 4560 candidates is, as such, in accordance with the instructions of the examination."

However, in view of the representations received by the Commission, dealing with the above issue, the Commission has decided to constitute a committee of experts to examine the matter and give its recommendations for the consideration of the Commission.
