Bank Clerk eligibility in terms of educational qualification, age limit, and nationality is given below:

Bank Clerk Age Limit

Bank Clerk age limit is 20 to 28 years. Age relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories. There are 5 years of age relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years of age relaxation for the OBC category. For Ex-Servicemen and Disabled Ex-Servicemen, the actual period of service rendered in defence services + 3 years, (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) is subject to a max. age of 50 years.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have graduated from recognised university. They should be proficient in the official language of the state. Moreover, candidates must have the working and operating knowledge of computers.

Nationality/Citizenship

Candidates must be a citizen of India or subject of Nepal / Bhutan or the Tibetan Refugee who shifted to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

The different conducting bodies such as IBPS, SBI and RBI release Bank Clerk application forms separately. The application process is completely online. The application fee can be paid online. The application fee for RBI Assistant is INR 450 for OBC/General/EWS candidates and INR 50 for SC/ST/PWD/EXS.

The application fee for SBI Clerk is INR 750 for the General and OBC categories. However, SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS candidates are exempted from paying the application fees.

The application fees for IBPS Clerk and IBPS RRB are INR 850 for General and OBC candidates and INR 175 for SC/ST/PWD categories.

Bank Clerk Selection Process

Bank Clerk selection process comprises prelims and mains exams. Candidates qualifying the main exam are called for language proficiency test/local language test. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the mains exam. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list.

The newly joined SBI Junior Associate (Clerk) is offered SBI Clerk salary of INR 19,900 (INR 17,900 with two advance increments). Following the 11th Bipartite Settlement, SBI Clerk salary will increase by INR 3000 to 4000. Candidates are entitled to Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc., as admissible from time to time.
