To become Bank PO in the nationalised banks, candidates need to clear the various Bank PO exams, conducted by the different recruiting bodies such as SBI, IBPS, etc. To be eligible for the role of Bank PO, candidates must have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree. The age of candidates should be between 20 and 30 years. Relaxation in the age limit is given to candidates belonging to the reserved categories.

Know the Entrance Exams to Become Bank PO

The bank entrance exams which candidates can appear to fulfill their dream of becoming Bank PO are given below:

SBI PO: Approximately 10 lakh candidates appear for SBI PO exam every year. The exam is conducted to select eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officer. SBI PO exam comprises three phases-Prelims, Mains, and Psychometric Test, Interview & Group Exercises.

IBPS PO: IBPS PO exam is conducted every year for recruitment to the post of Probationary Officer/Management Trainee (PO/MT) in 11 Public Sector Banks in India. IBPS CRP PO/MT exam comprises the preliminary exam, mains exam, and interview. In 2022-23, a total of 6.52 lakh candidates had registered for IBPS PO, out of which 4.61 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam.

IBPS RRB: IBPS RRB is a national-level banking exam conducted every year by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for candidates who aspire to join the Regional Rural Bank (RRBs). Recruitment is carried out for the following Group A and B posts.

Know Bank PO Salary

Bank PO salary is different for different banks. The salary offered to bank PO in SBI is high compared to other public sector banks. Bank PO salary is given below.

SBI PO Salary: The initial in-hand salary of SBI PO ranges between INR 52000- INR 55000 per month with the basic pay of INR 41,960. The Gross compensation received lies between INR 8.20 Lakhs (minimum) to INR 13.08 lakhs (maximum) per annum. The SBI Probationary Officers are eligible for Lease Rental/ HRA, DA, Medical, CCA and other allowances besides basic pay. The amount varies with the location of the job posting.

Salary of Public Sector Banks: The pay scale offered to Bank PO by public sector banks is INR 23700 - (980 / 7) - 30560 - (1145 / 2) - 32850 - (1310 / 7) – 42020, including INR 980 is the annual increment that will add up to the basic salary, and it will be applicable for 7 years. The basic salary after 7 Years is INR 30,560. Also, the basic IBPS PO salary after 7 + 2 Years is INR 32,850 and the basic salary after 7 + 2 + 7 Years is INR 42,020. (as per the 10th Bipartite settlement). The basic IBPS PO salary is INR 36,000. Besides, candidates get other allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), and Special Allowances are also there.

Salary of Regional Rural Regional Banks

IBPS RRB PO salary ranges between INR 51,000 to 58,000. Employees are offered increment in the IBPS RRB salary on a regular basis. The annual increments in IBPS RRB PO salary are given below.
