UPSC Calendar 2021: NDA & CDS 2021 exam dates announced

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), on August 17, has announced CDS and NDA exam dates. According to UPSC Calendar 2021, CDS (I) 2021 exam will be conducted on February 7 while CDS (II) will be held on November 14, 2021. NDA (I) 2021 exam will be conducted on April 18, 2021. NDA (II) 2021 will be held on September 5, 2021.

CDS and NDA Notifications

NDA and CDS 2021 notifications will be made available on the official website in PDF. The notifications will contain all information related to the exam such as eligibility criteria, how to apply, exam pattern, syllabus, selection process, etc. Read More on CDS notification and NDA notification

CDS and NDA Eligibility Criteria

To apply for CDS and NDA exams, candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria. The educational qualification for both the exams are given below:

NDA

Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Candidates must have passed Class 12/HSC from a recognised board

Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy of National Defence Academy: Candidates must have passed Class 12/HSC with Physics and Mathematics from a recognised board

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for the exam.

CDS

For CDS exam, both male and female candidates can apply for the exam. Candidates must be physically fit to carry on their duties and responsibilities. The educational qualification required for CDS is given below.

• For IMA and Officers’ Training Academy, candidates must be a graduate
• For Indian Naval Academy, candidates must have a degree in Engineering from a recognised university
• For Air Force Academy, a degree or Bachelor of Engineering is necessary. Students must have studied Physics and Mathematics in Class 12

How to apply for CDS and NDA?

The application forms of CDS and NDA will be available online only. The application fees for both the exams can be filled both online and offline. The application fees for CDS and NDA can be paid online and offline. The application fees for CDS is Rs 200. Female/SC/ST candidates are exempted from fee payment. The application fees of NDA are Rs 100, however, SC/ST candidates/Sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs were exempted from paying the fees. The application process is explained below.

• Visit the official website upsc.gov.in
• Click the Part-I link to register
• Enter personal details, address and educational qualification to apply online
• Choose the preferred branch
• Verify the details before submitting the registration form
• On successful registration, the registration ID will be generated
• Pay the application fees
• Select the preferred exam centres
• Upload the scanned images of photograph and signature
• Sign the declaration and submit the application form

Selection Process

Candidates under CDS and NDA exams are selected based on their performances in written exam and SSB Interview. The allotment is done on the basis of merit-cum-preference basis.
