Indian Railways and the RRBs are in the process to finalise the Computer Based Exam(CBT) conducting agency and hence no exam dates are announced for the RRB NTPC and RRB Group D exams. Both the exam will be conducted in online mode at various exam centres across the nation. The candidates are waiting for the RRB NTPC admit card and RRB Group D admit cards and in the process, the candidates have files RTI for the exam dates.

Indian Railways is one of the largest employers in the world and has over 1 million employees. Indian Railways recruit thousands of candidates each year for various posts in its different departments. RRB NTPC Exam
RRB NTPC exam is the most popular exam among graduates because of its generalised nature of the examination. The RRB NTPC exam is conducted to recruit the non-technical staff for the railway departments. It includes the Clerks, Accountants, Goods Guards, Traffic Assistants, Commercial-cum-train clerk and the post of Station Master. Stationmaster is the most respected position among them all. The RRB NTPC exam comprises four stages - Stage 1 CBT, Stage 2 CBT, Stage 3- skill test and stage 4 Document Verification (DV). The number of vacancies in the RRB NTPC centralised notification was 35,208 and for these vacancies over ten million applications were received.

RRB Group D Exam
RRB Group D is one of the largest exams in the world in terms of the number of applicants. The RRBs on behalf of Railway Recruitment Cells are conducting the RRB Group D exam across the nation. The RRBs issued a centralised notification for the posts of Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant Pointsmen and other posts. In the latest RRB Group D notification, over one lakh vacancies were notified. The RRB Group D exam comprises three stages. Stage 1 CBT, Stage 2- Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Stage 3- Document Verification and Stage 4 - Medical Examination. The details of the RRB Group D exam are given below.

RRB ALP/Technician Exam
RRB ALP/Technician exam is conducted to recruit the candidates for the Assistant Loco Pilot and technicians. Assistant Loco pilot means the assistant driver of the train. The RRBs released the RRB ALP notification 2019 on February 3, 2018, for 64,371 vacancies. The RRB ALP exam is conducted in four-stages. The RRB ALP Exam Stages are

- Stage 2 - CBT -2
- Stage 3 - Document Verification
- Stage 4- Medical Examination
RRB JE Exam
RRB JE exam is conducted to recruit the junior engineers in its various departments. This exam is very popular among engineering graduates and the number of applicants in this exam is very high. The following are the four positions for which the recruitment notification was released.
- Junior Engineer (JE)
- Junior Engineer (Information Technology)
- Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and
- Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA)
RRBs had issued the RRB JE notification 2019 for over thirteen thousand vacancies. The RRB JE exam has a four-stage selection process. The four-stages of the exam are:
- Stage 1 - CBT 1
- Stage 2 - CBT 2
- Stage 3 - Document Verification
- Stage 4 - Medical Examination
RPF Recruitment
Railway Protection Force (RPF) recruitment exam is conducted by the Ministry of Railways to recruit candidates for the force. Since 31 Dec 2019, the Ministry of Railways has accorded an organised Group A status to RPF and renamed it to Indian Railway Protection Force Service. Before this order, the RPF had an unorganised service status. Railway Protection Force does various tasks in addition to the security in the trains and Railway Property. The Railway Protection Force was raised in 1957 through an Act of Parliament.
The RPF recruitment exam is conducted for the following two positions:
- Constables
- Sub-inspectors
RPF Constable Recruitment
The RPF constable recruitment exam is conducted to recruit the male and female for the constable role in the force. The RPF notification invites application for numerous vacancies every year to recruit the candidates for various railway zones. The RPF constable exam is a four-stage exam. The age limit for the RPF Constable exam is 18-25 years. The minimum educational qualification required for the RPF Constable exam is SSLC/Matric.
