TNPSC Group (2) 2019 exam pattern & syllabus revised
The pattern and syllabus of TNPSC Group 2 has been revised by TNPSC. Read below to check the revised TNPSC Group 2 exam pattern and syllabus.
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has revised the exam pattern and syllabus for TNPSC Group 2 for interview and non-interview posts. The changes in TNPSC Group 2 exam have been notified on the official website.
The commission has removed General Tamil and General English sections from the pattern of preliminary exam. The exam paper as per the revised TNPSC Group 2 exam pattern of preliminary exam will consist only General Studies and Aptitude and Mental Ability.
The questions paper will have total 200 questions, out of which General Studies section will have total 175 questions and Aptitude and Mental Ability Test will carry total 25 questions. The duration of the test is 3 hours and total marks is 300. The qualifying marks of preliminary exam is 90.
The pattern of mains exam is divided into two parts – A and B. Part A will have questions from Tamil to English Translation and English to Tamil Translation. Part B will carry questions from Precis Writing, Comprehension, Hints Development and Essay Writing on ‘Thirukkural’ and Letter writing (Official).
For Interview posts, the mains exam will be conducted for 300 marks while the oral test carries 40 marks. Therefore, the total marks is 340. The minimum qualifying marks for all communities is 102 out of 340. The mains exam for Non-Interview posts carries 300 marks. The minimum qualifying marks is 90.
