Amid the ongoing coronavirus breakout in the country, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has postponed all the competitive exams till April 2, 2020.

Uttar Pradesh government has announced that it has postponed all its competitive examination till April 2, 2020, in wake of rising coronavirus cases in the country. The fresh dates for all the upcoming examinations will be released by the commission in due course of time.

The commission has asked all the applicants to keep a check on its official website to get the latest updates on the fresh dates of upcoming examinations.

All schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions around the state have been closed by the government till April 2 as a precautionary measure to avoid the spread.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) had released the hall ticket for Block Education Officer (BEO) on March 11 for the written examination (Preliminary) which was scheduled to be held on March 22. However, with the current scenario, the examination has been postponed and is expected to be held after April 2.

Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, many candidates had requested the commission not to conduct the examination on the defined date and postpone it. The state government has also requested all its citizens to avoid going to large gatherings, public places, and unnecessary travel.

UPPSC BEO new examination date is expected to be released soon on the official website i.e. uppsc.up.nic.in.

The commission had released the official notification about the BEO examination on December 13, 2019. The examination for the same is conducted in three-phase – prelims, mains exam and interview. For this year, the commission has released 309 vacancies for the post of Block Education Officers.

UPPSC BEO Exam Pattern:

The UPPSC BEO Prelims exam is done in Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) format. The examination will be of 300 marks, with 120 MCQs from General Studies. Each question carries 2.5 marks and for each wrong answer, 0.33 marks will be deducted as negative marking. The examination will be of 2 hours and will be conducted both in English & Hindi.

Once the candidate clears the prelims exam they have to appear for UPPSC BEO Mains exam. The exam is conducted in a descriptive style with compulsory papers on General Studies & General Hindi. Each paper carries 200 marks and students are given 3 hours to complete the same. In the Hindi essay section, aspirants need to write two essays with minimum of 700 words each.
