WBCS 2020 prelims result was released on September 15. The West Bengal Public Service Commission released the result for the public on September 16. The official WBCS 2020 prelims result pdf contains the role numbers and the category of the candidates.

Along with the WBCS result 2020, WBPSC also released the category-wise cut off for the candidates. Four Thousand Six Hundred and Ninety candidates were declared qualified for the WBCS 2020 main exam. The WBCS main exam 2020 will be conducted from December 19 to 26 at the designated exam centres across the state. The WBCS main exam dates were announced earlier by the commission through a separate public notice.
The WBCS main exam is a mix of objective and subjective papers. The compulsory papers in the WBCS main exam are objective type question papers and the optional subject papers are the conventional essay type papers. There are six compulsory papers in the WBCS main exam. The exam pattern for the WBCS main exam is given below.

The candidates can answer the optional subject papers in Bengali or English as they opt-in the Detailed Application Form (DAF) for the main exam.

The WBCS 2020 exam is a three-stage selection process. WBCS prelims exam is the first stage of the exam and also the toughest one to clear. The passing percentage of the Prelims exam is very low and the number of qualified candidates depends on the number of vacancies notified in the official notification.
The WBCS prelims exam is an objective type exam and the candidates need to solve 250 questions in two and a half hours. The WBCS prelims exam is a just a screening exam and the marks secured in the prelims exam are not considered for the final merit list.
