National Testing Agency (NTA) organises the UGC NET and Joint CSIR UGC NET examinations every year. Both the CSIR NET and UGC NET exams are conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) posts in Indian universities and colleges.
The UGC NET 2022 exam is underway and Phase 2 will be held from September 20 to 30, 2022. On the other hand, the CSIR NET 2022 exam will be held from September 16 to 18, 2022.
Candidates belonging to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) who have opted for scribe in the UGC NET application form 2022 or CSIR NET application form 2022 and will be appearing in the respective examinations will be given scribe facility as per the following rules:

Who are eligible for Scribe Facility?
The scribe facility for PwBD category candidates will be given in the category of:
- Blindness
- Locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA)
- Cerebral palsy
In case of any other category of PwBD, the provision of scribe will be allowed on production of the certificate from the Chief Medical Officer/ Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution (as per the proforma prescribed under the Guidelines dated August 28, 2018.

Q: Â When will the CSIR NET Notification 2024 for the December Session be released?
CSIR NET Notification 2024 for the December Session has been released by the National Testing Agency on the official website. Along with the notification, CSIR NET December Application Form 2024 is also released by the NTA. Interested candidates will be able to apply for the CSIR NET 2024 exam by registering on the official website. The NTA will release the CSIR NET Notification in a PDF format.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to conduct the CSIR UGC NET exam to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (LS) in Indian universities and colleges.
In such a scenario, the CSIR NET or UGC NET scribe facility will be provided if the concerned person has physical limitations to writing and the scribe facility is necessary to write an examination on his or her behalf.

A PwBD candidate can bring his or her own scribe or can avail the same from the NTA as well. In case a candidate is bringing his or her own scribe, the qualification of that scribe should be one step below that of the candidate taking the UGC NET or CSIR NET examination. Such candidates need to submit the details of their own scribe at the UGC NET exam centre 2022 or CSIR NET exam centre 2022, as per Appendix-II of the said Guidelines.
Arrangement of Scribe from NTA for UGC NET/ CSIR NET
If a PwBD candidate has opted for a scribe from the NTA, then he or she needs to visit their allotted exam centres two days prior to the exam to meet the scribe. The details of the allotted exam centre will be provided on the UGC NET admit card 2022 or CSIR NET admit card 2022.
Q: Â What is the CSIR NET Exam Date 2024?
The CSIR NET 2024 exam dates for the December session are February 16 to February 28, 2025. However, the June session was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for 5 subjects from July 25 to July 27, 2024. The National Testing Agency NTA has been entrusted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to conduct the Joint CSIR UGC NET exam to determine the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (LS) in Indian universities and colleges. There will be five papers: Mathematical Science, Life Science, Chemical Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science. Normally, NTA CSIR UGC NET is conducted twice a year in June and December. The CSIR NET exam is held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
Q: Â What is the exam shift timing for UGC NET exam?
The UGC NET exam is conducted in two shifts morning and evening. The NTA (National Testing Agency) will conduct the December session exam in more than 200 centres across India in several districts. The exam shift timing of the UGC NET 2024 exam is as follows: a) First Shift - 9.00 am to 12.00 pm b) Second Shift: 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm The candidates are advised to report to the exam centre 30 minutes before the GATE closing time to avoid any mishap at the exam centre. At the exa centre the candidates can bring a transparent water bottle, and ballpoint pen along with two photographs and photo identity proof.
Q: Â What are the exam day guideline for UGC NET?
The candidates who are going to appear for the UGC NET 2024 exam must check the exam day guidelines:
- Candidates must reach the test centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card;
- Candidates should read the instructions on the admit card carefully and follow them during the exam.
- No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without the admit card and photo ID proof.
- Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre after 9.00 am in the first shift and after 2.30 pm in the second shift.
- Candidates should report at the exam room at the centres by 9.15 am in the first shift and by 2.45 pm in the second shift.
- Candidates must not leave the UGC NET exam hall before the paper ends.
- On completion of the paper, candidates must wait for the instructions from the invigilator and must not right away get up from their seat to leave the exam hall.
- Candidates wearing special attire such as burqa, hijab, turban, etc. must reach the exam centre early for thorough checking.
- Candidates should sit on the seat indicating their roll numbers only. The candidature will stand cancelled if candidates change their room or seat on their own.
- Candidates must ensure that the UGC NET question paper 2023 available on the computer is as per their opted subject. In case otherwise, candidates must bring the same to the notice of the invigilator.
- Calculations and rough work are to be done only in the rough sheet provided at the centres.
- No candidate should involve in any unfair practices during the exam.
Q: Â Which are the cities where CSIR NET exam is conducted?
In such a case, the qualification of the scribe will not be more than the minimum qualification criteria of the examination. However, the scribe qualification shall not be less than matriculation as well.
