Indian Economic Services 2020 exam will not be conducted: UPSC
UPSC will not conduct the Indian Economic Service 2020 exam. Read below for details.
The Union Public Service Commission will not conduct the Indian Economic Service Exam 2020 because of the nil vacancy is reported by the Ministry of Finance this year. The Indian Economic Service (IES) is a central service and the IES exam is conducted every year to recruit the candidates for the Indian Economic Services.
The IES exam is conducted with the Indian Statistical Services Examination every year. UPSC has released the Indian Statistical Exam 2020 notification but this year there is no vacancy for the Indian Economic Service and hence this year the name of the notification is Indian Statistical exam 2020 only.
The Indian Economic Services is a specialised service meant for the specialists. The IES officers are posted in the policy institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, NITI Aayog and the likes. UPSC conducts the IES exam.
The Indian Economic Service exam is conducted in two phases. The first phase consists of six conventional type question papers. Each paper is of 200 marks except the General English and General studies paper. The Indian Economic Service exam is conducted in the following way.

The candidates who qualify in the written exam are called for the Interview in the UPSC. But this year the UPSC will not conduct the Indian Economic Services exam. This will have an impact on the future of Economic graduates who will be attaining the upper age limit this year.
