Engineering Services Exam 2020 applications have been rejected by UPSC on account of non-payment of fee. See here details about the rejected application numbers and names of the candidates.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a notice stating the rejection of the candidates who did not pay the fee for the Engineering Services Prelims 2020. UPSC has cancelled the candidature of the candidates who did not pay the requisite fee for the IES Prelims Exam 2020. The last date for submitting the Engineering Services Exam application was October 15, 2019. The candidates can appeal against this notice in 10 days from the date of this notice. The appeal can be sent by post or submitted by hand in the UPSC Office.

The Engineering Service Prelims Exam 2020 will be conducted on February 5 at various exam centres across the nation. UPSC had issued the Engineering Services Notification in September 2019 for 495 vacancies. It is popularly called as the IES Exam.

Scheme of Engineering Services Exam 2020

Engineering Services Exam is a three-stage exam consist of the following stages:

  1. Preliminary Test (Objective Type Papers)
  2. Main (Conventional Type Papers)
  3. Personality Test

Engineering Services Prelims 2020

Engineering Services Prelims exam will have two objective type papers. 

  1. General Studies  and Engineering Aptitude Paper (Paper-I)  - 200 marks - 2 hours
  2. Engineering Discipline specific paper (Paper-II) - 300 marks - 3 hours

The final merit list will take into account the marks obtained in the prelims exam. There will be a penalty (Negative marking) of 1/3 for each wrong answer. The Engineering Services Exam is conducted every year to recruit the Engineers for Group A and Group B services in various departments of the Union Government.
