This is likely to assist University in monitoring parameters such as PM1, PM2, PM10, CO, O3, NO and noise and send the information to Cloud, an advanced platform for multivariable analysis and remote management.

Abdul Hannan Mustajab, a student of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) pursuing BSc (Mathematics), has been given the "Young Scientists Award" for his endeavours to create an environmental monitoring device. This device can be efficiently used to keep tab on pollution. The award was handed over by panellists of the National Conference on 'Environmental Sustainability: Innovations, Translation Dimensions and Way Forward' held at Lucknow’s Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar University. Mustajab has showcased his algorithm to craft an 'Environmental Monitoring Device' that gives real-time and easy to understand remote monitoring of environment humidity, environment temperature, and other environmental conditions through internet at the conference.

According to a statement from the university, the efforts and innovation of Mustajab were much appreciated during the conference. According to Omar Saleem Peerzada, AMU Public Relations Officer, Mustajab is now working on the installation of the device at a number of points in AMU to check pollution levels and traffic. This is likely to assist University in monitoring parameters such as PM1, PM2, PM10, CO, O3, NO, and noise and send the information to Cloud, an advanced platform for multivariable analysis and remote management.

The device will assist in evaluating in real-time the concurrent recognition of vehicle flow and traffic concentrations at serious points, with air quality, particles, and noise data. Mustajab opined that innovative and greener products were the need of the hour for observing the environment and confronting climate change. The growing part of remote sensing devices for environment sensing and on-road sensing would assist in implementing emission control strategies.
