Tezpur University releases provisional list of eligible candidates for PhD courses

The Tezpur University has released a provisional list of eligible candidates who have applied for admission to PhD courses offered at the varsity. For various courses offered through PhD such as Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Commerce, Mass Communication, Education and other courses, a total number of 125 candidates have been deemed eligible for the course. Candidates who have been selected, are required to verify their original documents by appearing for the online counselling session, which will be available from September 15, 2020, to September 21, 2020.

The candidate are supposed to login, upload their documents and deposit the admission fee. The varsity informs students that no separate call letters will be issued to the individual candidates for admission.

The documents which are required to be uploaded are as follows:

• Pass certificates and mark sheets/grade cards of all Board/Council/University examinations starting from HSLC.
• Migration certificate from the University/ Institutions last attended.
• A valid certificate of UGC NET/JRF/GATE/SLET/M.Phil in case of NET/JRF/GATE SLET//M.Phil qualified candidates.
• Caste certificate/PWD certificate from the appropriate authority, if applicable
• Latest EWS/OBC-NCL certificate issued by the competent authority, if selected under EWS/OBC-NCL category.
• No Objection Certificate from the principal investigator, if working in project
• No Objection Certificate from the employer allowing them to carry out the course work as Full-time candidate if employed.
• Three copies of Passport size photograph.

Candidates will have to visit the official website of Tezpur University and click on ‘Admissions’. From there, the candidate will have to click on the link ‘Provisional List of Candidates for PhD Courses’. The candidates can check the final list.

The online interviews and uploading of documents for admission to Tezpur University are underway. Earlier, the Tezpur University used to conduct the Tezpur University Entrance Exam (TUEE), however, due to the impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, the varsity decided to scrap the entrance exam for the 2020-21 academic year. Admissions to the courses and programmes were done on the basis of candidates meeting the eligibility criteria, marks secured in the qualifying examination and personal interview. Candidates who clear all the three rounds, are offered admission to the course.
