Sri Balaji Society's Balaji Institute of Telecom & Management recently organised the highly prestigious Fourth National Telecom Symposium 2011 - "Transforming Telecom Landscape", as a part of the corporate interface programme.

While addressing about thousand students from the four management institutes of the society, namely - Balaji Institute of Telecom and Management (BITM), Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM), Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB) and Balaji Institute of Management & Human Resource Development (BIMHRD), speakers shared the growth opportunities and challenges that lie before the dynamic Telecom Industry.

It was a unique gathering which Pune experienced, when nearly twenty corporate stalwarts from leading industries across India representing the spectrum of Telecom Industry came together on a common platform for this annual Telecom Symposium,organized by BITM to set new benchmarks for aspiring Telecom managers and to drive the telecom industry to greater heights.

Mr. A. T. Kishore shared that the Indian Telecom industry has witnessed a growth rate of 15% in the last fiscal year 2010-2011. He highlighted the importance of eco-sustainable telecommunication services and how increasing efficiency and productivity of the devices could pave the way for a higher market share for a company.

Mr.Monicka Raj Govindan (CTO Etisalat DB Telecom Pvt. Ltd.) gave a highly informative presentation about the journey of Telecom technology from switches to modern Networks which are capable of carrying voice, video and data. He also stressed on the power of landlines and network architecture.

NitinDoddihal (VP-Business Development, Asia Pacific - American Towers) talked about how the Telecom regulations have evolved over the years and impacted the industry. He also highlighted the future market potential for the Indian Telecom Tower Industry (multiple operators sharing the same infrastructure).

Mr.Kunal Bajaj focused on the explosive potential of VAS industry. Mr.GauravDua spoke about the positive impact of Telecom Industry on the Indian Economy as it is expected to empower even the rural population of India.
