COVID-19 Impact: Uttar Pradesh B.Ed JEE postponed

The UP B.Ed. JEE exam has been postponed amid coronavirus outbreak. However, the university has also asked all its faculty members to start uploading lecture content online to help students cope up with their studies during this time. 

In the wake of the complete lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Uttar Pradesh B.Ed, Joint Entrance Examination (UP B.Ed. JEE) has been postponed. The examination which was scheduled to be held on April 8, 2020, has been tentatively rescheduled for April 22, 2020. 

However, the date is subjected to the instructions given by the competent authority.

Lucknow University, which will be organizing the exam this year, has instructed the candidates to keep a regular check on the website for any notification.

UP B.Ed. JEE is conducted for the aspirants seeking admission in B.Ed. programmes which are offered by 16 universities around the state. With this dealy in the entrance examination, the result and counseling process is expected to be delayed too.

During this lockdown, to help students with their studies, the university has also started to provide e-learning resources. It has directed all its faculty members to give lecture content that can be uploaded on the university's official website, making it feasible for students to continue their studies during this lockdown. The lecture notes provided by the faculties will also be uploaded on the home page of the website.

In case of any assistance or query, the students have been asked to contact their Head of Department and respective teachers. 
Many universities around the country are opting for e-learning methods to avoid any disruption in studies during this period.
In his address to the nation, Prime Minister had announced a 21-day complete lockdown, which also includes all educational institutes. This has been done as a precautionary step to avoid further spread of COVID-19, which has till now claimed 11 lives, and have infected more than 590 people in the country.
