DU's second cut-off list is out; all is not lost
Delhi University's second cut-off list is out. There is only a marginal dip in the cut-off percentages. B.Com (Hons) seats in 36 colleges have already filled up but 15 colleges are still accepting students for the course. For Hindu college, the second cut-off is 99%, showing a drop of 0.25%. Admission in B.Com (Hons) at SRCC is already closed but you may get a seat in Economics, if you fall in the percentage range of 96.5 to 97.5.
B.Com (Hons) at Ramjas College has a cut-off range of 96 to 98 per cent while LSR has pegged it at 96.5 per cent. Commerce is open at Sri Venkateswara College for students in the range of 96.5 to 97.5 per cent while for Economics there’s a cut-off of 95.75 to 96.75 per cent. Admissions for B.Com (Hons) are closed at Dayal Singh, Janki Devi, and Gargi colleges.
Students with 85 to 90 per cent marks may get a chance in the popular courses at off-campus colleges though. The lowest cut off for B.Com (Hons) was 81% at Aditi Mahavidyalaya. Read more
English Honours, the second most popular course, is still open to students at most colleges. But admissions for the course are closed at Kamla Nehru, Han Raj, Lady Sri Ram and Sri Venkateswara colleges. At most places the general cut-offs have dropped by 1 to 3% while the drop in CATE cutoff is as much as 8% for some colleges.
BA (Hons) in History is closed in eight colleges. Colleges like Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Kalindi and Ramjas have lowered their cutoffs for the course by up to 6%.
Admission for specialized BA Programmes has closed in only six colleges so far. Delhi College of Arts and Shyam Lal (evening) College along with some other colleges have dropped their cut-off percentages for the course by as much as 10%.
In science subjects, only a marginal drop has been noticed in most colleges. Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences has dropped the maximum cut-off percentage for its B.Sc. (Hons) in Physics – by 3%. The drop is less than 1% for popular colleges like Hindu and Hans Raj. Admission for B.Sc (Hons) in Mathematics has closed in 16 colleges but is also open in as many colleges. B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry is open in 13 colleges with maximum dip of just 3% at Moti Lal Nehru College.
