DU Lowers Cut-off for OBC Students

A number of Delhi University colleges on 17th July came out with a lower cut-off list for OBC candidates, hoping to round up admissions in the category over the next two days. The list, understood to be the last for this year's admission season, showed there was plenty in store for OBC students as many colleges had failed to fill up the seats in this reserved category.

IIM Indore's Plan for 5 year Management Programme Called Off

The ambitious plan of Indian Institute of Management, Indore, of admitting students straight out of school into a five-year management programme plan has been called off. The IIM Indore 5 year programme Plan was called off after the Centre summoned the IIM director to the capital on Wednesday for an explanation. It is notable that a fortnight ago, the institute had come up with a proposal to allow students to leave after three years of undergraduation -with either a diploma or a degree.

DU Bars Colleges from Converting OBC Seats into Unreserved Category

Aiming to have a healthy number of OBC students in Delhi University, the varsity on Tuesday issued a notification preventing its constituent colleges from converting reserved seats that remain vacant on the last day of admissions and making them available to students in the unreserved category.

IIMC Branch Proposed in Kashmir

The reputed Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has planned to open a branch in Jammu and Kashmir by next year. According to an official, discussions are going on about the location and number of seats. IIMC, which currently has branches in New Delhi and Dhenkanal in Orissa, was set up in 1965 on the recommendation of a team of internationally known mass communication specialists from Unesco and the Ford Foundation.

IIM Bangalore Makes Attending Classes Optional

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore has decided to make attendance optional across all courses, starting with the first year students of this academic year. According to Bringi Dev, the head of Communications and an adjunct professor there, at the post-graduate level, a student is mature and this will be a testing time for students on how they can discipline themselves. The students will be evaluated based on their class participation along with their overall performance.

IIM Bangalore to Set UP New Campus in Anekal

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM - Bangalore) will soon role out it's new campus in Anekal at Mahanthalingapura. The new campus will be 110 acres and has been leased by the State government for a period of 30 years. The new IIM - B campus in Anekal will host IIM-B's proposed incubation centre aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship besides executive education programmes.
