IIT JEE 2011 Was Comparatively Easier This Year!

4.85 lakh students appeared for the Indian Institute of Technology - Joint Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE) to compete for about 10,000 engineering seats in all the IITs, ISM Dhanbad, and IT - BHU. Most of them found that the paper was relatively easier than last year, with Chemistry being the easiest and Mathematics being a bit difficult. Physics was found to moderately difficult. Answer sheets to JEE 2011 question papers are expected to be uploaded on the website by May 15, 2011.

DCI May Revive One Year Mandatory Internship Requirement For Dental Students

The Dental Council of India (DCI) has decided to revive the mandatory requirement of undergoing one year internship for dental students, after they undergo four years of theoretical study for their BDS degree. In 2007, the hands-on training requirement was dropped because it was observed that internships were not being taken seriously by students and the use of fake certificates was rampant. But now the lack of hands-on training is being seen as hurting the interests of future dentists and their patients.

Britain's Top Universities Stepped Forward To Indian Students' Aid

New visa rules implemented by the UK government frown upon international students enrolling for a second Master's degree programme. This had generated uncertainty in Indian students who wished to do an MBA from the UK, after their current Master's course. However, the Universities UK (UUK) association (that has 133 member universities including the top universities in Britain such as LSE, Oxford and Cambridge) has announced that its member universities will continue to welcome Indian international students to the MBA course after they have finished their present course.

Only 15% Seats In MHT CET Will Be Available To Students From ‘Outside The State'

The Maharashtra government has decided to reserve only 15% seats for students outside the state in engineering, pharmacy, and management courses. 65% seats will be reserved for students who are domicile residents of the state while remaining 20% seats will be filled up through a College Management Quota.

Malaysia At #9 Tops The EF English Proficiency Index (EF EPI) In Asia; India At #30

Malaysia has been rated at #9 in global rankings for proficiency in English but it is right at the top in Asia for being highly proficient in English. It has overreached Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan to acquire the position. India is at #30 with 'Low Proficiency' rating in English, just a step behind China.

Karnataka Government Cancelled Results Of Nine Toppers In 2011 Post-Graduate Medical Entrance Exam

In the post-graduate entrance exam for medical and dental courses conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences on January 30, it was found that seven of the Top 10 in the merit list wrote the exam at VIMS, Bellary. On enquiry, the results of nine candidates were nullified. They were also barred from attending the medical and dental counseling that was to begin on April 10.
