JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute Of Post-Graduate Medical Education & Research) M.Sc. MLT-Microbiology Entrance Exam will be held on 31st July, 2011 between 11.45 am to 1.15 p.m. JIPMER M.Sc. MLT-Microbiology is taught for a duration of 2 years. The prime aim of the course provide students proper training of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) in the field of Medical Microbiology. Students are also taught about theoretical and practical training in technical services at various levels of health care.

Eligibility of JIPMER M.Sc. MLT- Microbiology :

  • Should be Resident Indian National.
  • Applicants should have qualified in a 3 years B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Microbiology / Biotechnology as main subject with Biology / Botany /Zoology as ancillary subject.
  • Or Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized university.
  • No. of Seats for the Course: 4 seats (2-UR, 1-OBC & 1-SC). There is no provision for sponsored / nominated candidates for any of the M.Sc. courses. There are no stipendiary provisions during the two years of study for any candidate.

Important Points

  • Publication of Merit List (for M.Sc D.M., and M.Ch.) : on or before 05-08-2011 (Friday)
  • Date for Ph.D. Counseling: 08-08-2011 (Monday)
  • Courses commence on : 16-08-2011 (Tuesday)

The Institution does not owe any responsibility for any postal delay caused to the candidates either in receipt of Application, Hall Ticket etc. Results as well as dates for counseling and the list of candidates called for counseling will be available in Notice Board of Academic Section, of JIPMER website.

Any information on the schedule of examination, roll numbers or venues of examination, merit list, counseling information will be published in the JIPMER website.

Method of Selection:

  • The Entrance Examination of JIPMER M.Sc. MLT- Microbiology will be a paper based test. The paper in the subject of Medical Lab Technology, at the level of B.Sc. standard, will have 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of single best response type. The duration of the test will be one and half hours.
  • Each answer with correct response will be awarded one mark. There will be no negative marking.
  • In case of equal marks the inter se merit will be determined by the age of the candidate. The candidate senior in age, will rank higher to a candidate who is junior in age. If there is still a tie, lots will be drawn.
  • The Merit list will be prepared category-wise, after which all the selected candidates will be intimated individually
  • The results will be displayed in the notice board and in the official website
