Lenovo launches PCs for students

In collaboration with Intel, Lenovo launched a range of student-centric computers – the Lenovo Classmate + and ThinkCentre TINY. Powered by Intel chipsets, these laptops and desktops, launched on July 17, 2012, will familiarize students with digital learning, making a shift from the existing teacher-centric solutions. Betting big on the education sector, these PCs and desktops introduced by Lenovo will provide its users with features like:

  • More ruggedness
  • Greater spill resistance
  • Affordability
  • Battery life up to 10 hours
  • Enhanced usability with Intel Learning Series software suite for using the e-reader, Web camera and digital writing features

Besides this, these new PCs will enable students to have an easy access to class materials and other resources that opens a classroom virtually beyond the school walls for making learning a lively experience.

Rahul Agarwal, executive director, commercial business, Lenovo India told reporters, “By joining with Intel to create the new Lenovo Classmate+ laptops, we are demonstrating how mobile computing fits into any learning environment, no matter the location or budget. “

He added “Earlier, most orders would come from private schools than public. But going ahead, we see that changing and more orders from government schools are coming up”. (Read complete story)
