MBA in education management and leadership for school principals

Uttrakhand Technical University, Dehradun, has announced the launch of MBA in Education Management and Leadership (EML) through one of its affiliated institutions, SelaQui Institute of Management (SIM), Dehradun.

The programme aims to prepare principals as school leaders and acquire skills and competencies in institutional management and leadership. Recently, the CBSE said in a notification, “it has become important for the aspiring and budding principals to prepare professionally to step into the role of the Principal as school leader. Even the established principals need to update and sharpen their leadership skills.” The programme will focus on how principals can manage the challenges of school, its stakeholders, teachers, students, parents, managements, regulators and communities.

MBA (EML) will be offered in two modes– regular and sequential (flexibility to finish in four years) – and cost Rs 1,47,000 annually (per two semester for sequential mode). “Placements will be provided to the participants,” informed programme spokesperson Neeraj Sharma.

 

Eligibility

• Graduation in any stream with 50% and above.
• Fluency in English language is must.

Administrators, connected with school governance and with at least a graduation degree in any subject are also eligible. Candidates can also be nominated or sponsored by the institution.

 

Selection Process

Candidates need to take a KSA test (Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes) to be conducted by the varisty. No preparation is required for the test. The test will be followed by an interview.

Desirous candidates submit completed application form and submit along with registration fee of Rs 5,000. Subject to meeting the eligibility criteria, the candidates will be allotted a login and password by email to take the entrance test.
