Mom and Pop education shops to shut-off soon
The mushrooming of education shops across the country will now come to an end. Such educational institutes have increased abundantly in the country. Due to the low admission rates and poor campus placements, 138 professional institutes that offer professional courses in engineering, computer applications and management studies will soon close off their operations. As per the official data, in 2011, India had nearly 3,500 management schools and over 4,000 engineering colleges.
Now is the time to deliver quality education or go invisible from the education industry. S.S. Mantha, chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education said that such technical institutions attract students as they give a false hope of securing a career after graduation. He added that the council has received 138 applications from management, engineering institutions for closure of operations. S.S. As per the official data, from October 2011 to February 2012, 60 business schools, 30 MCA colleges and 15 engineering colleges have applied for closure. Most of these institutes are located in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. This number can increase before the start of the next academic session.
He added that such institutes have low industry-institutes interface, and the teaching level is also below the standards. It is the clear sign of Consolidation. After the set up of foreign institute campuses in India, the poor players are left with no choice, either they have to surrender or change the game plan.
