After completing my secondary education, my parents being a bit orthodox, didn't want me to pursue studies further. But I was keen on learning more and wanted to experience college life. Then, after putting in a lot of effort I managed to persuade my parents to allow me for further studies.

I was already late for admission in my favorite college. So, I applied for admission in other college which was also good. I had to choose from other subjects as seats in my favourite subject were already full. I always had an inclination towards learning English language. If I would have applied for admission earlier then I would have completed graduation in my favorite subject.

However, after completing my graduation, I took admission in MA English for which I was eligible basis my good marks in English subject. It felt like I was on cloud nine.

After completing two years duration MA English course I became aware about the University policy of additional subject qualification programme which was that I could give additional exam of any subject even after completing my BA. This was like a dream come true situation. So, I gave all the exams in three years and could pursue any course. I selected BEd as my course of choice to become a teacher professionally.

My college life: classes, extra-curricular activities and more

English classes in my graduation course were conducted by Baldeep ma’am and I remember those days with fond memories. I also got a scholarship for being a meritorious students.

I also participated in dance competitions in my college festivals and this turned out to be a memorable experience. I also participated in National Service Scheme during my BEd course and this turned out to be the best experience ever. Even today, I remember my visits to an old age home, where old people lived in harmony and shared their feelings with each other. I think God has blessed me and helped me achieve all that I ever wanted. I made the best of my days during that time. I couldn't have spent that duration in any other enjoyable way.

I feel that we can start learning at any age. We should never feel shy to learn anything new. And there is nothing like being late to learn anything as God opens doors for you if you really want to achieve something in life.
