NRI student tops ISC exams worldwide

Born in Mumbai and based in Dubai, the 17-year old Rohan Sampath has topped the Indian School Certificate (ISC) board examinations for Class XII – worldwide - with 99.5%. He is also the highest scorer in the history of ISC exams yet, with a perfect 100 in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science and 98 per cent in English. Read more
With an excellent track record of topping in school every year, Rohan and his parents had expected a good result. But they were pleasantly surprised when they came to know that he had topped the exam worldwide. Besides India, the ISC exams are conducted in Indonesia, Singapore, Bhutan, Yemen and the UAE too.
Rohan’s parents - Sampath Srinivasan and Sandhya Sampath – have been in Dubai for eighteen years now. Unlike most NRIs, Rohan hopes to return to India some day.
Another feather in the cap of Rohan Sampath is that he has sailed smoothly through the grilling admission processes of Yale University and Stanford University too. Rohan now plans to join economics or engineering at the Stanford University. Know more about Rohan
A student of Dubai Modern High School since kindergarten, Rohan has been the President of the Modern Debating Society at school and represented United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the World School Debating Championships in Scotland last year.
Crediting his parents and teachers for his success, Rohan slams private tuitions. He says that there is no shortcut for success.
