Punjab’s 20 training institutes stripped of SCVT affiliation

Punjab technical education department has cancelled the affiliation of 20 institutions with the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) and suspended affiliation of five institutions with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). The institutes with suspended affiliation cannot admit new students.

These 20 art-and-craft teacher training institutions were found to be falling short on several review parameters. The state’s technical education and industrial training minister Anil Joshi made the announcement on Sunday.

Institutions to lose affiliation are:

  1. Guru Teg Bahadur Art and Craft Teacher Training Institute, Samana
  2. Prime Technical Training Institute, Sangrur
  3. Mata Gujri Art and Craft Teacher Training Institute, Patran
  4. PRG Art and Craft, Kurali
  5. Honey Art and Craft Institute, Patiala
  6. Malwa Art and Craft Institute, Sangrur
  7. Anand College of Art and Craft, Majitha
  8. Gyan Jyoti ITC, Chunni Kalan
  9. Natraj Art and Craft Teacher Training Institute, Barnala
  10. International Art and Craft Teacher Training Institute, Sirhind
  11. Fateh Art and Craft Teacher Training Institute, Abohar
  12. Sant Baba Nidhan Singh Art and Craft Institute, Garshankar
  13. Punjab Medical Institute of Art and Craft, Jalandhar
  14. National Art and Craft Institute, Sangrur
  15. Gian Sagar Art and Crafts Institute, Amritsar
  16. Akal Kirpa ITC, Malout
  17. Sri Satya Sai Art and Craft Teacher Training Institute, Abohar
  18. Vishwamitter Institute of Technical Education, Batala
  19. Lala Lajpat Rai ITC, Moga
