Rail Budget brings in new jobs, joy to NID

In the Railway Budget 2012, Railway Minister Mr. Dinesh Trivedi stated that 'safety' is going to be his biggest concern this year. He also said that 80,000 vacancies in Indian Railways will be filled by the end of this financial year while over one lakh people will be employed by railways in the next financial year.

Mr. Trivedi is also planning to set up a rail design unit at the National Institute of Design at the cost of Rs 10 crores.

There was good news for for sports persons. Ten new Rail Khel Ratna awards will be introduced soon. The sportsperson who will win these awards will be given intensive professional training in their chosen sport. Arjuna Awardees will get to travel free on Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains too.
