Study Gita at Kurukshetra University
Does Bhagavad Gita fascinate you? Have you ever wanted to pursue it as a full-time study program? Kurukshetra University has answered the wish by launching a course on Bhagavad Gita. This exclusive offering will enable students to lead a tension free life through ancient Indian scriptures.
The one-year certificate course came into action from this academic year and has received a good response from students. Dr RK Deswal, chairman of the philosophy department told HT that it is a first of its kind initiative by an Indian university to offer a full-time course on Gita.
Districts as far as Sirsa and hisar have 25 students applying for this program. With a successful launch year, the institute officials are planning to upgrade the certificate course as a diploma from the next academic session.
The sacred place, Jyotisar, where Lord Krishna is believed to have delivered the message of Gita to Arjuna, is about 6kms from Kurukshetra University campus. Gita has attracted worldwide recognition and acceptance from people of different religions as a source of unparalleled wisdom.
