Trinity College, Presidency Univ to have exchange programs

Aiming to start faculty exchange programme and student exchange programme, Presidency University (Kolkata) and Trinity College (Dublin) are planning to get into a collaboration. Trinity College President will visit Kolkata next month to sign an MoU with the university.

The main objective behind this initiative is to start faculty exchange programme and student exchange programme. About 70 assistant and associate professors’ names have been approved who are appointed in the departments of political science, geology, chemistry, mathematics, bio-chemistry, bio-technology, botany, zoology and physiology.

In November, Presidency University will be out with fresh advertisements for new posts. About 130 posts were filled till Wednesday and it is expected that the university will get over with first phase of selections by the next council’s meeting. Selection process for Hindi, Bengali, Geography, Environmental Science and Computer Science will get over by November.

The hiring process of the selection committee is focused towards meeting the university’s objective to create a center of excellence.
