June 24, 2024: Assam down town University is honored to announce that Prof. Bandana Dutta, the Dean of Studies at Assam down town University, Whole Time Director (WTD) of down town Hospital and Trustee for The down town School, Guwahati, and down town Gurukul, has been honored with the prestigious Amal Prabha Das Award.

Prof. Dutta received this award from the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, to recognise her contributions to the state's art, culture, society, and literature. The award ceremony took place during the central programme of Darrang College on June 20th as part of the celebrations for Bishnu Rabha Divas.

Further, Prof. Bandana Dutta is among the eight respected individuals to be awarded state awards, alongside two recipients of the Bishnu Rabha Award for 2024 and one recipient of the National Level Award for 2020.

Assam down town University Secures 431 Jobs From Top Companies in Placement Season

June 03, 2024: During the 2023-24 placement season, Assam down town University (AdtU) welcomed 74 companies to its campus, extending job offers to 431 students. Among the highlights, five outstanding students secured the highest package of Rs 10 lakh per annum (LPA). Furthermore, 11 students received offers of Rs 8 LPA, while 19 secured Rs 7 LPA and above packages. Additionally, 25 students received offers ranging from Rs 5 lakh to 6.9 lakh per annum.

The recruitment drive witnessed participation from prominent companies including Wipro, PwC, TCS, Asian Paints, and others. Rimjhim Baruah Borah, Associate Director (i/c) of the Directorate of Career Advancement at AdtU, expressed immense pride in the students' achievements and credited their success to their hard work and exceptional skills. To celebrate this success, AdtU organized a Success Meet on campus, allowing students to showcase their academic journeys and network with peers and prospective employers.

Assam Down Town University Announces Prof.Dr. Mrinmoy Basak, Director of International Affairs, Became The Only Indian visiting Professor To Be Fully Sponsored by the Indonesian Government

May 27 , 2024: Assam down town University is pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Mrinmoy Basak , Director of International Affairs, has become the only Indian visiting Professor to be fully sponsored by the Indonesian Government, having recently participated in a one-week faculty exchange program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Indonesia, from May 13 to May 19, 2025. He is one of five distinguished visiting teachers from Thailand, Malaysia, Italy, Spain, and Indonesia, all of whom were supported by the Indonesian government for each government college.

During this visit, the Director, Prof. Mrinmoy Basak, Director of International Affairs, engaged extensively with the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, participating in various academic and cultural activities. These included workshops and interactive sessions designed to share knowledge and best practices in sports and health education. Additionally, Dr. Basak delivered lectures and presentations on innovative teaching methods and recent advancements in sports science research. Assam Down Town University Introduces Certificate Course in Film Appreciation

October 11, 2023: In order to broaden students' perspectives in terms of aesthetics and pleasure, Assam Down Town University, a renowned private university in North East India, is introducing an undergraduate certificate programme in film appreciation. The goal of this six-month programme is to convey essential information about the craft of filmmaking and an understanding of its cultural significance.

The training would initially be restricted to university students, according to Dr. N. C. Talukdar, vice chancellor of Assam Downtown University. The programme will be opened up to outside students, movie buffs, and industry experts after the first six months. He also emphasised the university's dedication to supporting a thriving film culture while making hints about the university's ambitious intentions to provide diploma and degree programmes.

The course will be taught by Utpal Datta, who serves as Assam Downtown University's honorary Dean of the Programme of Performing Arts. Mr Datta is a well-known cinema critic and director in the country whose book "Chalachitrar Rasaswadan" won the Assam State Cinema Awards for best book on film writing. September 11, 2023: The festival concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the 'Jatiyo Sangeet' of Assam, uniting everyone in a moment of pride and camaraderie. Assam down town University (AdtU) celebrates its 14th Foundation Day with an extraordinary event, bringing together students, teachers, staff, and distinguished visitors in a dynamic demonstration of academic excellence and cultural diversity. To begin the festivities, University Dean of Studies Dr Bandana Dutta, Chief Guest MP Queen Oja, and Prof (Dr.) Niranjan Chakraborty, FNA, FNASc, FNAAS, Professor of Eminence, National Institute of Plant Genome Research unfurled the national flag, symbolising AdtU's pride and dedication.

This was followed by a soul-stirring rendition of the National Anthem that moved everyone in the room. The university hymn was also warmly performed, reminding us of the organization's long history and continued commitment to education. Following the acknowledgement of the eminent guests, T V V L N Rao, PhD (IITD), Professor & Dean, Faculty of Engineering, delivered a welcoming speech and provided a summary of AdtU's Year Long Programme. The distinguished presence of the Chief Guest, the Honorable MP Queen Oja, who gave a motivational address highlighting the crucial importance of education in shaping the future of the country, was the highlight of the event. In addition, Professor of Eminence, NIPGR, Prof. (Dr.) Niranjan Chakraborty honored the occasion with a thought-provoking lecture.

As part of the event, AdtU also recognised and awarded outstanding community achievements. Among the various categories in which prizes were given out were Student Achievement prizes, Best Teacher, Best Researcher, Best Teacher in Responding and Executing Tasks, Best Innovator, Best Faculty of Studies, and Award for Most Constructive Suggestions. The institution also handed gold coins to its loyal and steadfast staff for 10 and 20 years of service. Other captivating performances by academics and students were also featured at the event. The festival concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the 'Jatiyo Sangeet' of Assam, uniting everyone in a moment of pride and camaraderie. Little information about Assam Down Town University .

Placements: Students are placed at this university with salaries like 2 LPA and 4 LPA. Psychology students get internships every semester in many organizations, including wellness homes and rehabilitation centers. Clinical psychologist positions are also available. As a psychology student, I mostly want to focus on my course and a career related to it, so I don't sit for company placements. I only have a limited idea about placements.

College infrastructure is very good faculty members are also good but environment is good .

Placements: 60 and the 60 above percentage student are place in our college. In our college the highest package is 17-20 Lacs, the lowest package 3 Lacs and average 5 Lacs. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, filpkart, sunpharma, statement stc.100 percent student got internship from our college in pharmacy companies. Our top roll is many picture the medicine and provide in medical and pharmacy.

Placements: ADTU is known to be the largest placement-driven university in the whole of Northeast, and it delivers on it by having a 90% placement percentage, with the highest package of 12 Lacs and an average placement of 4.5 Lacs. Various companies come, like Apollo Hospital, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. More than 5000+ job offers were offered last year.

Really good infrastructure and facilities in ADTU.

Placements: Some students got a 24 LPA package, some got 12 LPA, and some got at least a 7–10 LPA package. Top recruiting companies are Infosys and Cosco, etc. Many students got internships in big companies for our course, and there are some who got into other companies.

Overall, it was a good university .

Placements: You need at least 60 percent in high school to get admission in this college. The highest course is B.Sc. nursing, which is probably B.Sc. Companies like Sun Pharma, Ajanta, etc. are the top recruiters. You need an 80-plus percentage in high school to get an internship. There are many roles out there, like being a drug inspector, lab scientist, pharmacist and many more.
