Pursuing BDS at People's University: Worth It?

After analyzing the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what stands out:

    Pros:

    * Highly qualified faculty: Many teachers are experts in their fields, having completed their education from reputed institutions. Some have even authored textbooks related to Dentistry.
    * Good campus life: The university has a pleasant atmosphere, with greenery surrounding the campus, modern libraries, and recreational facilities like gyms, badminton and basketball courts.
    * Relevant curriculum: The course curriculum is up-to-date and follows Dental Council of India (DCI) guidelines, preparing students well for their future careers.
    * Placement prospects: Although there may not be direct placements in big companies, many students find employment in hospitals, clinics, or pursue further studies in Master's programs.
    * Infrastructure: The university has state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, and medical facilities, making it suitable for hands-on learning.

    Cons:

    * Recent decline in teacher quality: A few experienced faculty members have left the institution, affecting the quality of teaching.
    * Limited resources: While the campus has modern amenities, some areas need improvement, such as the lack of air-conditioned classrooms and poor maintenance of sports grounds.
    * Disappointing hostel facilities: Despite being located within the campus, the hostels require upgrading, with issues regarding room size, food options, and timely resolution of problems.

    Overall Assessment:
While People's University offers some strengths, such as highly qualified faculty and a relevant curriculum, the recent decline in teacher quality and limited resources might impact the overall learning experience. However, the university's efforts to maintain a pleasant campus atmosphere and provide opportunities for students' growth should not be overlooked.

Considering these factors, pursuing a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree at People's University can be a viable option for those who prioritize a strong educational foundation and are willing to adapt to potential limitations in certain areas.

This college is the best private dental college of central India.
Placements: This is basically not a placement degree. You need to set up your own clinic. But this college has a number of patients. So the patient exposure is high, and you can practice well, so the chances of your handwork getting better are high. BDS provides nine different branches like oral surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, periodontics, pedodontics, Ph.D. radiology, oral, and maxillofacial surgery. The internship is in the college itself, for which you get paid. There are a total of 100 seats for every new batch, and all of them are filled at People College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre, which is exactly in Bhanpur, Bhopal.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms are renovated. You get both single as well as double-sharing rooms. Wi-Fi facilities are there, and classrooms are good. There is a huge library, and you get every other book you need for your course. So, the infrastructure of this college is amazing. Classes are big, and they have space for all 100 students. Facilities guide you with every possible thing and stuff they can. They are so kind, patient, and gentle towards their students. Hostel facilities are good. You get a mess with breakfast, lunch, evening meal, and dinner with laundry as well and hygiene.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. They do not deny any kind of help. There is a mentor-mentee system in this college, which helps you with academic as well as other problems. This is a yearly course, so the university exam is held once a year. There are 3 more exams, which are 2 sessional and one more university exam, which are not that difficult and can be passed easily if you practice previous year question papers.
Other: I chose this course because it has a wide scope, which will be helpful for my future. You can further go for an MS course. A fest is also held once a year, which is absolutely fascinating. The campus is full of greenery. Such a positive environment.

Absolutely satisfied as faculty members are good, with good infrastructure and good patient loads.
Placements: 70 percent of students get jobs or open their own clinics or pursue MS afterward. Our college offers MS too. The patient load is great here, and we get to learn many things. Faculty members and seniors are really good and helpful, and we have a central library here.
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi facilities here, and each department has its own lab. The classrooms are quite big with projectors and AC. Hostels for both girls and boys are provided, and hostel rooms have a bed, almirah, study table, chair, and side locker. The food is also decent.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified with a great amount of knowledge. Their teaching quality is good. We have a total of four exams annually: 2 sessionals, 1 pre-university, and 1 university-level exam. The exams are tough, and the minimum pass percentage is 45%, which is tough.
Other: I wanted to pursue dentistry from the very start. We have various extracurricular activities such as fests, garba night, DJ night, etc. Our college provides scholarships for both ST/SC and OBC category students.

Best staff for UG students and highly qualified faculty members.
Placements: We have a strength of 100 students per batch from which minimum 50% pf the students get placement in companies like tata, etc. Some students choose to open their own clinic or get placed as college staff. Oral and maxillofacial surgery departments get the best results.
Infrastructure: Our college is fully covered with natural greeneries with all sort of facilities like gym badminton courts and canteens. Libraries have Wi-Fi, lifts for patients and students. Campus have great mess with tasty foods. Basketball and football grounds and a very safe environment for girls.
Faculty: Teachers and faculty members are highly qualified with some of them having their degrees from top government colleges. Some HODs have written books for BDS like Oral Pathology by Make. There is a strict rule of 75% attendance to appear in the exams. Exam curriculum consists of 4 internal exams and 1 final exam called as PU.

The college has suffered a downfall in recent years with a lack of quality education.
Placements: There aren't any placements in our course BDS. After internship completion in the 5th year, they set you free to go for private practice and prepare for MS exams and other exams. Campus recruitment isn't in the prospectus of the college. Students should seek opportunities on their own.
Infrastructure: According to the fee structure, the campus is more disappointing than ever. No campus Wi-Fi facility is available. Classrooms are non-air-conditioned with basic technology only. Sports equipment is lacking, and grounds and arenas are never maintained. There is always a complaint about the hostel's mess.
Faculty: Teachers were initially the best ones, but in recent years, experienced faculty members have resigned from the college. The teaching process is nothing else but presentation reading. The curriculum is relevant. Yearly exams are easy to pass if you are a regular student and complete your patient or pre-clinical work on time.
Other: The only thing good about the college is its fest.
